Metal Cutting Package
Equips the system with a capacitive Z-axis height follower and high-pressure assist gas solenoid manifold for dross-free precision cutting of stainless steel, mild steel, brass, and aluminum.
The OptiDual Laser System is specifically engineered for high-volume manufacturing environments requiring rapid component output and uncompromising edge quality. By mounting two synchronized laser cutting heads on a single rigid gantry, the OptiDual duplicates cutting operations in real time across large-format sheet stock.
Driven by Kern’s proprietary KCAM control software, the power output of both laser sources is dynamically balanced. This guarantees identical part accuracy, kerf width, and edge polish on every component across 24/7 manufacturing shifts.
Built for high-volume fabricators, the OptiDual platform combines extreme gantry speed with high repeatability across a wide spectrum of industrial materials.
Synchronized dual heads double part throughput on a single bed layout.
Precision ground linear rails maintain true mechanical accuracy across the bed.
Super-Pulsed CO2 laser options deliver superior edge quality with low HAZ.
In-house manufactured CO2 sources backed by total technical support.

Answers to standard technical, operational, and export procurement questions regarding the OptiDual platform.
The OptiDual platform integrates two or three laser cutting heads onto a single gantry assembly. The secondary laser head is linked to the primary head via an adjustable crossbar. As the master head cuts a path, the secondary head duplicates the operation simultaneously on adjacent stock, doubling component throughput without requiring additional operators or machine footprint.
Kern's KCAM control software includes dynamic power-matching algorithms. Operators can fine-tune output wattage for each individual laser source down to single-percentage increments, guaranteeing identical cut depth, edge polish, and kerf width across all simultaneously processed parts.
OptiDual systems process cast and extruded acrylic, hardwoods, plywood, MDF, PE/PU foams, technical textiles, gaskets, leather, and stone. With the optional metal cutting assembly and capacitive height follower, it also cuts stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, and brass.
Kern super-pulsed CO2 laser sources carry an industry-leading 3-year factory warranty. Global export customers receive direct technical support from US factory engineers via remote desktop diagnostics, worldwide replacement parts dispatch, and localized field service networks.
